A white fish also known as walleye or young pike, found in large coastal wetlands in the Great Lakes and Manitoba. The flavour is sweet and mild without that “fishy taste.” Pickerel is wonderful pan-fried or deep-fried with a crispy breading or batter. Pickerel is also nice baked and is also firm enough to BBQ. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D which works with calcium to keep bones healthy and strong!
